Growing up in a remote village in northern Canada, I was surrounded by the beauty of simplicity from a community in harmony with it’s natural surroundings. I began my journey of self discovery in my teenage years, with the ultimate goal of finding what it means to be truly happy. A large part of the equation was figuring out what I was going to do as a career. What gift did I have to share with the world? I spent the next 15 years trying to figure this out.

I took a leap of faith and left the safety of my island and I moved to London, England in pursuit of discovering my gift. I knew I loved art, design & photography yet I had zero education or experience on what this actually meant. I couldn’t think of a better place than London to immerse myself. There, I was struck by beauty of a different sort; the timeless grandeur and visceral energy of cities enduring nearly two millennia. Being from limited means, I couch surfed while I threw my cards out there, applying to all jobs that I could think of as being arts and design related. I ended up landing an office management/design support position in an interior design company. This is where my love for interior design began to blossom.

The next 10 years I focused on my career. I moved to Boston, achieved my Masters in Interior Architecture and began my journey as a practicing interior designer. After 5 years of practicing residential & commercial interior design I began to blend my two passions in life; self discovery and interior design.

My character and my design philosophy are shaped by these experiences, and I strive to imbue each of my designs with mindfulness, timeless simplicity, innovative sustainability, and a visceral emotional connection. This blog is a place for me to share what I’ve learned with others who are searching for their own understanding of how we connect with spaces and things, with the goal of inspiring self-discovery to enhance overall happiness.
